This unique program is dedicated to providing all children educational opportunities through dynamic curriculum and core values, enabling students to maximize their success in life—regardless of geographic, demographic, or financial circumstance.

The K¹² at the Y program is a supervised, online-learning education alternative, offered onsite at most all Valley of the Sun YMCAs, and administered by accredited Arizona Virtual Academy. Our curriculum aligns with all local and state academic standards and requirements—and is designed for students who NEED or PREFER alternative education outside traditional school settings, in a structured environment of cooperation and fellowship. Every enrolled student receives a YMCA Youth Membership, free of charge, and all course materials from books to microscopes are provided for use.

The ultimate goal of the YMCA is to assist all children & teens, by providing a successful alternative to gaining an education and a chance to attend post-secondary school or vocational options that successfully align with their individual aptitudes and interests. This modern approach to education provides a much-needed educational alternative for many children.
