Amazing Kids Center:

The Desert Foothills Family YMCA provides excellent childcare with a great playing facility for your children while you work out. Your children will have lots of fun with our staff engaging in fun activities such as outdoor games and arts and crafts! The age requirements for our Amazing Kids Center are 6 Weeks to 9 years old.

Hours:
Monday-Wednesday: 8:00am- 8:15pm
Thursday: 8:00am- 8:00pm
Friday: 8:00 am- 6:00pm (CLOSED 11:30am- 2:30pm)
Saturday: 8:00am- 2:00pm
Sunday 9:00am- 1:00pm

Teen Center:
The Teen Center is a great place for your teens to come and hangout! During the hours listed below, your teens have supervised access to:
• Full Circuit of “Life Fitness” equipment
• Homework help
• Pool table
• Ping-Pong table
• Foosball Table
• TVs
• Video games

Monday-Friday: 3:00pm- 8:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am- 6:00pm

*The teen center is for youth ages 12-18 in middle and high school only Monday-Friday 3:00pm-8:00pm

Parent's Night Out
Ages 3-10
PRICE:
Member $25 1st child, $5/each additional child

After School Recreation

Grade K-8 PRICE: $60 Members or $95 Non-Members
Monday-Friday: End of School until 7pm
Our After School Recreation program offers a safe and inexpensive opportunity for youth who are looking for a safe fun place to participate in recreational activities after school.

Ballet
AGE: 3-7 PRICE: $28 or $32 depending on age
Sunday Afternoons
Beginning ballet introduces the fundamentals of movement and dance technique while encouraging creative movement, self-expression and body awareness. Class is 45 minutes. Ballet shoes required. Leotard and tights recommended

Girls Only Night
Grades: 7+ PRICE: Free for Members/ $5 Non-Members
Last Friday of Each Month 8PM-10:30PM
Designed for teenage girls to have girls only night at the Y while supervised by our female teen center staff who will coordinate fun activities and projects for the night!

Homework Club
Grades: 7+ PRICE: Free
Monday-Friday 2:30PM-4:00PM
This program is geared for our teens in grades 7 and up who are struggling in one or more subjects. This program will run Monday-Friday afterschool with staff and volunteers to help those struggling with school. Snack and Water Provided.

Midnight Madness
Grades 7+ PRICE: Free for Members/ $5 Non-Members
First Saturday Of Every Month 8pm-Midnight
Join us at the Y for a Teen only time with non-stop fun activities. Midnight Madness is supervised by teen center staff, in a safe fun environment. Pizza, Open Gym, and more! Designed for teens to participate in fun social activities on a Saturday night.

Teen Only Open Gym
Grades: 7+ PRICE: Free for Members/ $1 Non-Members
Saturdays 9:00pm-10:00PM
Designed for those teens that just can’t get enough of the court. Teen Only Open Gym Time allows our teens to participate in pick up games and shoot hoops with their peers and friends on a Saturday night.

Teen Enlightenment Group
Grades 7+ Free For Members and Non-Members
Every Tuesday 6:00PM-7PM
Designed for teens to gain knowledge and support as a young adult with subjects that are a common struggle. Topics covered in this program are managing a budget, developing a healthy sports mindset, managing school, homework, sports, and grades, Healthy living choices and more. This program is supported though community partners such as National Bank of Arizona, Breon Michel, AAA, and more!

Spend your Spring break right with Fun Days at the Desert Foothills Family YMCA. Register for the week or by the day and secure your spot for non stop fun during the holiday break! Lunch is included with structured activities including fitness, crafts, games, computers and more! (Limited space available)

Full Day Themed Summer Adventure Camps
Grades: K-5 PRICE: $176/Week(members) $214/Week (non-members)

Spend your summer letting your imagination go wild. Each week has a different theme with activities ranging from sports, games, crafts, character building, swimming, trips, making new friends and much more!

Half Day Specialty Themed Summer Adventure Camps

Grades: K-8 PRICE: $110/Week (members) $149/Week (non-members)
Monday-Fridays May 27, 2014-August 1, 2014 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm
Spend your summer building new skills, making friends and having so much fun! Join us for one of our week long specialty camps including: Volley ball, basketball, bitty ball, math, science, dance, karate, movie, gymnastics, Jr. Lifeguard, Computer, Fit Kids, Crafty Kids, Water, and Games Galore!

Adventure Travel Teen Camp
Grades: 6-10 PRICE: $180/Week (members) $225/Week (non-members)
Monday-Fridays May 27, 2014-August 1, 2014 9am-4pm (unless otherwise stated)
Designed for tween and teens grades 6-10. This program appeals to their special interests, through a continuing series of field trips and special events. Travel to a new destination each day and fill your summer break with cool experiences and new friends!

Fitness Classes:
Group Power®: This strength class is the original BTS designed barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout will challenge all major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, and curls. Every fitness level is welcome.

Group Core®: This 30-minute class works the entire core – front and back with assistance from the shoulder and legs.

Group Active: Active incorporates cardio, strength, flexibility, and balance training in one hour. It is a great option for new and returning exercisers as well as a supplement for athletes.

BODYFLOW™: the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. A carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Jump Start: This interval training program alternates strength and cardio in a 45- minute time frame. Class meets in the teen center.

AOA (Active Older Adult):
For active older adults that are at a higher level than Jump Start yet not quite ready for streamlined classes! This class will give you a full body workout and enhance your ability to complete activities of dialing living and more! This class uses weights, bands and other equipment, and focuses on cardio, strength, flexibility and balance! Great for the beginner and/or returning exerciser as well!

SilverSneakers Classic: Take advantage of muscular strength exercise and range movement. Move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and skills required during activities for daily living. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and standing support, stretching and relaxation.

Cycle: This high-energy group cycling class combines heart pumping music and instructor motivation with the body-changing effects of cardiovascular cycling. Work out at your own pace and enjoy the exhilaration of this challenging and inspiring exercise.

20/20/20: The perfect balance...20 minutes cardio, 20 minutes strength, 20 minutes flexibility. This class includes several different formats of each genre for a new and exciting class each time!

Cardio Kickbox: Cardio Kickbox will challenge any fitness level. This class combines martial arts, boxing, plyometric, and cardio bursts. High intensity and always something different!

Water Exercise: This class is designed for the general population where all are welcome. Experience a great cardio workout while providing low-impact, muscular resistance, and a wide range of exercises.

Yoga: Yoga classes are ideal for those wishing to improve flexibility, balance, and tone while strengthening core muscle groups. These no impact, low intensity workouts include stretching and core muscle training exercises. The results? Enhanced mobility, long, strong muscles, a flat stomach, strong back, improved posture, and a more streamlined body. This class is perfect for any age or fitness level.

Mat Pilates: Based upon the principles of its founding father, Joseph Pilates, this class improves muscle tone, balances musculature, supports correct posture and teaches to move with ease and grace. Pilates allows for different exercises to be modified in a range of difficulty from beginning to advanced.

Sh’Bam™: Featuring simply but serious hot dance moves, this is the perfect way to shape up and let out your inner star, even if dance isn’t your natural thing.

Zumba™: Zumba® Fitness is like no other workout you will ever experience! Inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa, samba, and meringue music paired with Latin rhythms; together with international dance steps, people of all ages fall in love with its infectious music, easy-to- follow dance moves and body-beautifying benefits!

Zumba™ Toning: Zumba Toning combines body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work infused with Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training fitness party. Students learn how to use lightweight toning sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs and thighs.

Zumba in the Circuit: The Latin-inspired dance rhythms of a Zumba® class combined with the benefit of metabolism-boosting strength training provide a complete, fun and effective workout. Shake your stuff from one exercise station to the next to the thumping beats of reggaeton, salsa, merengue, hip-hop and more!

Zumba Gold: The easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the beat at your own speed. It's an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all, exhilarating! Zumba Gold® classes provide modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.

Personal Training:
Nutrition Services: NEW!!! If you want to achieve healthy weight, enhance wellness, increase fitness...a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) provides client-focused and individualized nutritional counseling geared toward what YOU should be doing differently. Learn to fuel your body correctly! One-on-One counseling, small group and large group special topic classes available!

Women's Self-Defense: This self-defense and fitness program has been designed specifically to empower women with the skills, tactics and strategies to survive a violent situation.

Golf Conditioning: This program is focused on getting individuals and groups physically ready for Golf. Our program works on the physiological components of improving your golf game. The following four characteristics and two additional components are the basis for this program: Rotation, Dynamic Posture, Balance from Heel to Toe, Weight Transfer, Flexibility, and Cardio/Strength Endurance.

TRX® Suspension Training®: TRX® Suspension Training® is a method of functional training that develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously and allow users to self-adjust the amount of resistance they want.

Pilates Reformer Training: With deep, mindful breaths and smooth, lengthening movements, a Pilates workout improves the way you look, feel and function. We offer private as well as semi-private Pilates reformer training. Pilates attracts everyone from grandmas to executives with its promise of core strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone!

Boot Camp: This Boot Camp style fitness class is a high-energy program that includes intense  cardiovascular and strength training drills. The instructor designs each class so you experience an intense boost to a regular workout routine. (may be held outside depending on weather).

Youth Healthy Living: Three unique and age-appropriate programs for youth ages 5 to 8, 9 to 12, and 13 to 16. Programs are designed to be fun, enriching, and to ultimately get our kids active! Please see our “Youth Healthy Living” flyer!

Small Group Personal Training: Create or join an existing small group with one of our personal trainers and pursue your goals together! You will receive guidance needed to help you achieve your goals and the motivation of a personal trainer.

One-On-One Personal Training: You will be matched with a professional certified trainer who will work closely with you every step of your fitness journey. Helping you achieve your goals is the main focus. You will follow a program of variety and all of your progress will be documented so you can see your results as you achieve them. Session frequency and length are customized to your goals and busy schedule.
 
The Desert Foothills Family YMCA offers free 15-minute training clinics that provide hands-on demonstrations of personal training tools and techniques.
